to Begin |
|
To obtain a Surveyor Intern Licensure Packet by mail,
contact the Board of Licensure for Professional Engineers and Professional Surveyors at 501-682-2824 or via e-mail
stephenw.haralson@arkansas.gov.
The forms are also available as Microsoft Word or Adobe Acrobat PDF files and can be downloaded from the table
below. The FREE Acrobat Reader is required to view and print the forms. Click HERE

Instructions |
|
The Application
must be typed and include one recent photograph of applicant. The three (3) Reference Forms
must be typed or printed in ink. Please do not use staples, we prefer paperclips and please include
your work extension if applicable. When completing the Work Experience Form, be sure to
include all experience after age 18 or High School, even if it is non-survey related. All time must be accounted for,
leave no date gaps between engagements. Describe your duties and responsibilites as clearly and concisely as
possible because the experience will be judged and evaluated on the information furnished. On your last
engagement make sure it is "to present (the date of your application)". Include the reference's name and
registration/license number if any. List the mailing address of the educational institutions attended as well
as transcripts and correspondence courses taken. Payment should be made to "PE & PLS fund" and must
accompany the application. Our mailing address is PO Box 3750, Little Rock, AR 72203-3750 and our physical
address is 623 Woodlane Ave., Little Rock, AR 72201.
All applications will be returned immediately if these instructions
are not followed.

Application*:
Surveyor Intern: $50.00
Surveyor Intern, student: $10.00
Examination*:
Fundamentals of Surveying, non-student/retakes: $110.00
Fundamentals of Surveying, student: $30.00
The application fee and the examination fee must be submitted with the application.
Other Charges*:
Administration Fee: After your application has been approved, you will receive information on how to contact
NCEES, to whom you will pay a $70.00 administration fee for the NCEES examination.
*ALL PAYMENTS SHALL BE NON-REFUNDABLE, UNLESS WAIVED BY BOARD ACTION!

Interview |
|
At its discretion, the Board may choose to interview applicants (Article 11.B) in order to better
judge their qualifications for licensure. Specifically, those applying for a Surveyor Intern license based on 4 years experience (Article 8.D.2)
will be asked to bring work examples to an interview at a designated place and time in order to demonstrate that the reported experience is of a
satisfactory grade and character. The Board reserves the right to seek and interview with other Surveyor Intern applicants as well. |

Examination |
|
Examinations are given in April and October of each year.
Applications to be considered for April exam must be in the Board's office with the three (3) reference forms,
college verification and all supporting data by January 1st. Applications to be considered for the October exam
must be in the Board's office with the three (3) reference forms, college verification and all supporting data by
July 1st. |

Notification |
|
Upon successful verification of submitted information, the application will be
reviewed by the Board and the applicant will be notified by mail of their decision. Examination results will be also be sent by mail. |

photograph of applicant. The five (5) Reference Forms must be typed or printed in ink. Please
do not use staples, we prefer paperclips and please include your work extension number if applicable. When
completing the Work Experience Form, be sure to include all experience after age 18 or High
School, even if it is non-surveyor related. All time must be accounted for, leave no date gaps between engagements.

Rules of Professional Conduct must also be included with the application.
For Comity applicants using a current NCEES Record, we will accept the following items from your record:
college verification;
Board verification of your exams;
work experience record; and
references (we will also accept your references strong>IF they are less that one (1) year old
(we need a total of five (5) references that are less than one year ole). Additional references must be on
the Arkansas reference form.

in this office after the deadline, we will place it into you file which will be retained until the next testing date (please see
examination information for cutoff dates).

Comity: $200.00 (includes fee for AR 2 hr law exam)
Examination*:
Professional Surveying (NCEES 6 hour and AR 2 hour State Specific): $180.00
Arkansas State Specific 2 hour Surveying (RETAKES ONLY): $25.00
The application fee and the examination fee must be submitted with the application.

Attention Comity applicants - upon Board approval of your application,
you are required to take the two (2) hour Arkansas State Specific Surveying Exam and will be notified of examination time
and place and you will not be required to pay the NCEES exam administration fee.
