Summary of Changes

The above TEA policy sections have been revised to incorporate policy clarifications that have been issued and policy and procedures that are consistent with the Division of Child Care (DCC) policy and procedures.

Specific changes are as follows:

TEA 2161 - A statement was added stating that an applicant who is referred to DCC as "diverted TEA", must be working a minimum of 30 hours per week in order to receive priority processing of the child care application.

TEA 3451(in the box) - A paragraph was added regarding who is eligible for child care.

TEA 3452 - A statement was added regarding Providers not charging TEA recipients registration or activity fees.

TEA 3453 – This is a new section that provides procedures for notifying the provider when services are changing/terminated.

TEA 3454 - This a new section that provides procedures for deobligating a certificate.

TEA 5110 - A statement regarding when the ESS child care count will begin was added.

TEA 5111 - A statement was added allowing a $100 deduction from the caretaker/relative’s earned income if he or she is employed 35 hours or more per week.

TEA 5112 – A statement regarding a participant’s responsibility for paying registration and activity fees was added to the information that is explained to the participant.
