Summary of Changes                  

TEA 5150 is a new section describing the policy and procedures for the new Extended Support Services-Job Retention Assistance. The purpose of ESS-Job Retention assistance is to enable a former recipient whose cash assistance case closed due to employment to retain his or her employment. This is a one-time payment that may be made during the twelve-month period following cash assistance closure. The individual must show that there is an immediate job-related need which, if not resolved, will result in the termination of his or her job and there must be no other local resources available to meet the need. 

An ESS-Job Retention payment will be made through the WISE system using new reason code “JR” (Job Retention). NOTE: Since the TEA case will be in closed status, the close override feature of the WISE system must be used to make the payment.
