SPECIAL NUTRITION PROGRAMS

 

 

 

The Special Nutrition Programs provide reimbursement for well-balanced, nutritious meals served to individuals enrolled in participating programs.

 

 

Child and Adult Care Food Program

 

This program provides reimbursement to organizations providing licensed nonresidential child-care services.  Adult day-care centers may participate.  Organizations may be reimbursed for two meals and one supplement or one meal and two supplements per day per child.

National School Lunch and Breakfast Programs

 

These programs provide reimbursement to an educational unit of high school grade or under operating under public or non-profit private ownership in a single building or complex of buildings.  Organizations that are licensed to provide residential child-care services are also eligible to participate in this program.  Institutions may be reimbursed for breakfast and lunch.

Special Milk Program

 

This program provides reimbursement to any school or non-profit institution based on the number of half-pints of milk served to participating children.  Reimbursement was provided for 169,159 half-pints of milk served to children in camps and schools in SFY 2000.
