UPDATE:  *De Novo Interstate Branching*

 (updated August 3, 2010)

As a result of the President signing the Dodd-Frank Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act into law, provisions of the Arkansas Banking Code restricting de novo interstate branching are now preempted.  Arkansas state-chartered banks are now free to branch into other states, as out-of-state banks are now free to branch into Arkansas.

As of August 3, 2010, this Department will be prepared to start accepting applications for out-of-state branch bank facilities.  An Application for an Out-of-State Branch Bank is now posted on this website under the tabs “Department Info” and “Applications and Forms”.  This Application also requires certain notice requirements be met prior to the filing of an application.  A potential applicant must also review the state law of the potential host state for any requirements it may provide before entry.
