 LICENSE RENEWAL

In compliance with provisions of the Arkansas Chiropractic Practices Act, each licensed Doctor of Chiropractic, practicing in this state, must annually submit evidence to the Arkansas State Board of Chiropractic Examiners of having satisfactorily completed not less than twenty-four (24) hours of continuing education, acquired during the preceding twelve (12) months, conducted by an approved chiropractic college, institution or at approved educational course, program or seminar.

Each Arkansas chiropractic license expires on December 31st of each year. The completed Renewal License Application and attachment of proof of continuing education must be postmarked by December 31st, the license shall automatically expire and be forfeited. Failure of the licensee to receive the Renewal License Application Form shall not relieve him of the duty to renew his license and pay the fee.

APPROVAL:

All courses, programs or seminars must have been pre-approved by the Arkansas State Board of Chiropractic Examiners in order for participants to receive continuing education credit.

Always ask the sponsor for an Arkansas Approval Number prior to attending a course, program or seminar, or call the Board Office for verification.

 

LICENSE RENEWAL QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS

Q. How much are the Renewal Fees?

A. In-State Active Renewal Fees are $200.00. In-State Inactive Renewal Fees are $25.00 Out-of State Active Renewal Fees are $125.00

Q. What are the continuing education requirements for renewal?

A. A minimum of 24 hours annually. For licensees practicing in other states, the Arkansas State Board of Chiropractic Examiners accepts the requirements established by the Board of the state in which the licensee is practicing, however no less than 12 hours of continuing education are acceptable. This may include up to twelve (12) hours of on-line preapproved education.

Q. Are courses automatically approved if sponsored by a chiropractic college?

A. No! All institutions or sponsors must submit a request for course approval.

Q. How do I know if the course has been approved by the Arkansas State Board of Chiropractic Examiners?

A. Always ask the sponsor for the Arkansas Approval Number or Contact the Board Office.

Q. Is there a penalty for late renewal?

A. Yes! Renewal License Applications post-marked after December 31st will be subject to a $200.00 late payment penalty.
