CONTINUING EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
REVISED In keeping with the ethical obligation of Psychologists and Psychological Examiners to remain current in their practices, the Board proposes to define minimum requirements for continuing education which, effective 1994, licensees must meet in order to renew their licensed to practice psychology in the State of Arkansas: 1.
Requirements GENERAL CONTINUING EDUCATION ACTIVITIES Acceptable are professionally relevant activities in formal settings, to include: a. Any educational experience approved by APA.
b. Collaborative study with a
psychologist(s) which involves supervised

a. Workshops provided by a qualified
professional from state and b. In-service training programs related to the practice of psychology.
c. Formal academic course work
related to the development or
d. Documentation of teaching a new
course or publishing an article, book,
e. Presentation at a first-time
poster session, workshop, or in service
f. Training related to upgrading or
maintaining skills in the mental health field Activities that are not acceptable for meeting the continuing education requirements include: a. Supervision where required for routine licensure purposes.

articles, except for Board- approved
c. The Board reserves the right to
determine whether any particular CE Exception to the
continuing education requirement: The continuing education
requirement for the previous year will be waived for individuals who
have been licensed in Arkansas less than (1) calendar year on
January 31st, the due date for continuing education
submission to the Board. Thus, individuals licensed after January 31st
of even-numbered years must submit 20 hours of continuing education
hours for the initial defined biennium. B. MECHANISM OF IMPLEMENTATION Documentation requirements: It is the responsibility of the licensee to provide the Board with acceptable documentation of CE activities upon request. Acceptable documentation includes certificates of attendance, transcripts, and similar official documentation.
